Well, life happened......

After getting a phone call from Katie on Friday night of last week...I totally changed my plans and headed to Texas. Katie had a skiing accident and tore her knee up pretty badly. So I have had an incredible amount of baby kissing and diaper changing and dish washing and clothes washing and just visiting with my kids and grandkid. Life happened and Katie hasn't been very happy about it needless to say, but at least we have a prognosis and a time frame to work with. She will have surgery on Monday and then won't be able to walk for a couple of weeks after that. She has a fracture of her leg bone and her ACL is no longer attached where it should be, so surgery is the only option. I love being here with Jacey and I may sneek her to Nashville in my suitcase! She is a doll and absolutely perfect! I do miss my family back home and I think this is the longest I have ever been away from home for a straight stretch. Awwww....life happens!

Spring isn't far away.....

Well, I am really trying hard to be patient and wait until April to go to the BEACH! I always get to go in March.....for spring break....but this year has changed and I am not liking it one bit. I always go to the beach in March ....ALWAYS.....hehehe. So....I am going to post pictures to make everyone wish they were going to the beach in March...only seven weeks until I get to go, if the Lord wills! Drool on.....

busy, busy, busy ---good? bad?

Thoughts to ponder for this week for me....am I busy doing God's work or am I just busy. Sometimes being too "busy" even doing church work or volunteer work just isn't a good thing. Being too busy makes it easy to skip my prayer time and my Bible study time. What to do??? We all have to work at our jobs and be moms and dads and make time for friends and just take care of the daily chores of our lives. It is so easy to get too busy in the 'dayliness of life'. Just another of the devils tactics--"I'm so busy"!

Well...Christmas and New Years Holidays were wonderful and I enjoyed time spent with family and especially Jacey! Now it is time for birthdays...that is about the only thing I like about January! February isn't my favorite either unless I do get that trip to warmer climates in. Hope everyone is having a good start to 2008!

Thoughtfulness...

Well, I am just speechless because some very thoughtful people did a kind deed for me today. I have CHRISTMAS LIGHTS on my house!!!! I have lived in this house for 14 years and have always wanted lights, you know, the icicle kind that hangs from the gutters....well, they are on my HOUSE today and are so beautiful! Thank you, Robert, for your hard work and Charlotte for helping him! WOW! I'll post a picture soon.

Hummm...thinking out loud....

I have met lots of people along this "jouney" of life. Some people have been friends at church, or school, or friends of my children or simply acquaintances and a "hello" here and there. I have a new favorite scripture that tells me how to treat the people I meet on my journey. "You have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. (1 Peter 1:22) Well, now, that isn't always easy because in order to do that....we have to put our heart "out there" so to speak. Our heart is easily hurt and we guard it so carefully. Can we really love others deeply, sacrificially, without thought for ourselves? Is it possible? We have the Perfect example...but can we really love deeply our brothers? Will we be misunderstood? Will we be hurt?

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart." (Eleanor Roosevelt)

About Me
